Bereavement support

Grief is not a problem to be solved. It is a way of carrying love forward. These are some of the things that have helped the families we have walked alongside.

There is no timetable

You may feel numb for weeks, then suddenly winded by something small. Both are normal. There is no right pace, and no neat order to the stages.

Bereavement support
Grief is the price of love. There is no way around it — only through.

Small daily anchors

Eating regularly, sleeping when you can, stepping outside each day — these unglamorous things matter more than they sound. Be gentle with yourself; let routines be small.

Talking helps, sometimes

Some find comfort in talking; others in walking, gardening, or quiet solitude. Trust what helps you. If words are hard, written letters or recorded voice notes to your loved one can release a lot.

When to seek more

If grief is making it hard to function for a long stretch, please reach out — to your GP, to a counsellor, or to a charity like Cruse or Marie Curie. We can also help connect you to local services.
